The Services

Sunday worship

Our main services are at 11am in English and at 12:30 in Gaelic every Sunday of the year. In addition, on the first Sunday of each month at 09:30 there is a service of Holy Communion. There are occasional evening services and special services during Holy Week and Easter, at Christmas and at other times. Everyone is welcome at all services in Greyfriars, whether they are members of a church or not, believers or not.

Services are conducted by the Rev Richard E Frazer

Our Assistant Minister Ruth Halley  will be taking the Morning Service on 16 October, and Morning Service with an Agape Meal on 30 October.

Midweek worship

The Midweek service takes place each Thursday at 13:10. The service lasts for 20 minutes and is an informal opportunity for prayer and reflection. If you would like to make a request for prayers to be said during this service you can email your thoughts in confidence to Richard Frazer, the minister.

NiteKirk

NiteKirk takes place one Friday evening each month and offers a place for stillness, prayer and relection. Come for the evening, or pop in for a quiet moment in our sanctuary of peace and tranquillity. There are occasional services and liturgies, prayer in the style of [Taizé], readings and music. There are volunteers you can chat with over a drink of the famous warm and spicy apple juice, or you can just take time to sit and think. We will publicise NiteKirk here on the site and on the blog, so watch this space.

NiteKirk takes place from 20.00 until midnight. Come and go any time - all welcome.

REFUGIO

Refugio is a monthly evening Eucharist set in the context of silence, symbol and reflective prayer. It takes its name from the shelters where pilgrims, walking the medieval route to Santiago de Compostela, stop and find rest on their journey. Refugio is a stopping place for today's pilgrims, away from the bustle of everyday life, away from many words and much doing, to a quieter, more reflective space, in which we can be nourished by bread and wine.
