Here you will find a place of stillness.
A place of welcome. A pause on your journey.
A Space to contemplate meditate, pray, with silence, music, poetry, art.
As a beloved creature your senses can enrich your experience of God's presence, and can become a great means of inspiration and communication for your soul For that reason, there are several installations that allow you to worship with your senses:
- During opening and closing prayer, you may use your voice to join in the singing, or quietly listen to the prayers being sung.
- In the centre of the church you are invited to sit around the Sand Cross, light a candle in prayer, and place it in the sand.
- There arc ministers present to offer you a Prayer and Anointing for Healing, or perhaps a conversation if you so wish.
In the South East Chapel, you may sit, write prayers, and fasten them to the cross as a sign of giving your thoughts to God.
The Icon is present as a visual window.
Candles provide a source of illumination, warmth and comfort.
Refreshments are offered at the back of the church, so that your body may be nourished. and you might find a welcome conversation.
At various moments throughout NiteKirk, you may hear a reading of poetry, or perhaps instrumental or vocal music. You may witness a dance, be inspired by a work of art by a visiting artist, or invited to participate in an Installation that invites you to consider a theme. These acts of beauty change from month to month. And are shared in order that you may discern something about the Peace of God that is always creatively present in a busy world.
NiteKirk takes place from 20.00 until midnight. Come and go any time - all welcome.
Future Dates:
