Lezley grew up in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, and followed an early call to ministry that led her to study at St. Andrews University, Princeton Theological Seminary (USA) and Edinburgh University before being ordained in the year 2000.
Ministry took Lezley back to her home city of Dundee to first serve as Minister of Downfield South Parish Church from 2000 until 2008 and thereafter to Currie Kirk, Edinburgh from 2008-2014. She was involved in all aspects of the life of each parish, and enjoyed being part of ‘village’ communities which retained distinct identities within each city.
In July 2014, Lezley joined the Greyfriars Kirk family as Associate Minister where she was drawn to the variety, diversity and development work of Greyfriars, and to being part of a team ministry. Lezley has a passion for inclusion and for worship that connects with both everyday life and with the mystery of God, and understands the church to be a place of encounter where we live and experience the questions of life and faith in shared community.
Lezley has served in a variety of roles in the Church of Scotland in the areas of Vocation and Training. She has recently published worship resources, "Where Two or Three Are Gathered" and "Celebrating Life in Death" through Saint Andrew Press, and she is currently studying for a Doctorate in Ministry through New College, Edinburgh & Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, USA.
